A little bit about me...

Hello Jacob Wiens families!
I am looking forward to another great school year! I am celebrating over 20 years with Hemet Unified School District, and all of those years have been dedicated to teaching students who learn in their own special way. Before joining Hemet Unified, I worked with Riverside Office of Education supporting at-risk youth at Hemet High School. Also, I worked in collaboration with California Youth Authority in working with young juvenile offenders recently released and provided training to assist them in obtaining jobs in the community of Hemet and surrounding cities.
I currently have a Special Education Teaching Credential, a Master of Education in Special Education and a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been recognized by Riverside Office of Education for School Leadership and plan on finishing my Administrative Credential in the near future.
I live in Hemet part-time, and spend as much time as possible at our place by the beach! My family blesses me beyond words and their love and support (along with my amazing students) bring immense joy to my life! I enjoy spending time with family and friends, golfing and scrapbooking.
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to teach your children.

Hello Families,
Be sure to turn back your clocks this weekend...and set your alarm for school so you are here on time :-)

Resource Transition

Attention parent(s) of primary grade Resource students :D
I want to welcome Mrs. Connors to our Resource Team!
Beginning October 27th, Mrs. Connors will be overseeing the instruction and case management of our primary grade (1st, 2nd, and 1/2 3rd) Resource student for the remainder of the school year. I will continue to service and case manage 4th and 5th grade Resource students.
Our numbers continue to grow, and this transition will allow us to better service the individualized needs of our students.
We will be sending more information home. Please continue to check your student's backpacks for upcoming IEP information from either Mrs. Connors or myself :-)

First Day of Autumn/Fall

Fall is around the corner, and we will be celebrating September 23rd as the first day of Fall! We will be using graphic organizers with the Fall theme. Look for our Pumpkin Plot papers, you can use these at home to check for understanding of what your student has read at home. After they complete the Pumpkin Plot they can color it in :-) I love Fall...don't you!

IEP Meetings

Hello there Jacob Wiens Families,

Be sure to check your student's backpack for information from me regarding upcoming IEP meetings. We have quite a few meetings planned for September and October, and getting back to me as soon as possible is critical in securing a date and time for a meeting. Communication is key!
