Hello, I would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself and my goals for PE class.
I grew up in Wisconsin and received my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of WI-Platteville. I earned a Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Physical Education and Bachelor's Degree in K-12 Adapted Physical Education. I also minored in K-12 Health Instruction. I have a master's degree in Pupil Personnel Services from Azusa Pacific University.
While in college I visited Los Angeles to compete in the LA Marathon. I was only in California for 4 days, but I immediately fell in love with CA. Thus I told myself when I graduate I am moving to CA. Upon graduation, I moved to Hemet. This is my 18 year teaching PE in Hemet. Along with teaching I also coach cross country at Dartmouth Middle School. I am also the director of the Hemet Unified School District elementary track meet.
When I am not teaching or coaching you can find me either kayaking or camping with my family. Even though I have been in CA for 18 years, I am still a huge Wisconsin Badgers fan.
My goal in PE class is for students to be as active as possible and to always try their best. I realize everyone has a different skill level. I really encourage kids to try their best regardless of what level they are currently at.
I want each kid to leave my class feeling they are a champion. I end my classes each day the same way. Each student leaves class saying "I Am A Champion". They are told "Champions believe in themselves, and champions never give up". By saying "I am a champion". I hope they always believe in themselves and never give up.
Feel free to contact me at anytime with concerns or questions about PE. You can email me at email@example.com
I look forward to working with your child as he or she continues to improve in Physical Education (PE) class.
State mandated fitness testing begins in February. Tests include trunk extension, sit and reach, push ups, curls ups, mile, and BMI (height and weight, 5th grade only). At Jacob Wiens we also include the pull up test and shuttle run test as part of our fitness award standards.
Enjoy the winter break. Try to avoid too many holiday treats. Make a resolution to be healthy in 2015.
