Mr. Whitmore's 3rd Grade Class

Hello Parent's/Guardians,
My name is Jason Whitmore. I have been blessed this year to have an amazing 3rd Grade class! First and foremost, I would like to thank you for your enthusiastic support of your child's learning and their subsequent success this academic year. It is my honor to be a positive role model for our children. In these challenging times, I feel it is mandatory to instill positive character by implementing Character Counts and Peace Builder strategies. Our focus is on building; trustworthiness, citizenship, responsibility, fairness, respect, and caring.
Together, we can encourage your child to academic excellence this year. I believe in the philosophy that ALL children can learn and succeed. As a class this year, our academic focus and educational goals will be guided by, and modeled after the State of California Standards for the 3rd grade common core curriculum. These educational concepts will provide the foundation we will continue to build upon throughout the remainder of the academic year. I also strongly support and teach problem solving and critical thinking skills through differentiated instruction as the scaffolding for which all excellent learning takes place. Every child has a different learning style and the delivery of curriculum will be through multiple intelligence's. It is my ultimate goal to insure that each and every one of my students will succeed to their fullest potential.
In closing, I would like to thank you for your time, and for standing with your child to ensure their success this year.

"The mind is a fire to be kindled not a vessel to be filled"

Sincerely,

Jason Whitmore

Thanksgiving Celebration

Hello Parents/Guardians,

Friday November 21st, our class will be having a Thanksgiving celebration!!! We started our unit on  the Native Americans traditions and customs. I will be bringing in turkey, candied yams, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy. I asked the children if they can think of any traditions/customs their family has been handed down. Then we got on the topic of recipes and food!! If you would like to make a traditional dish that your family eats during the holidays, please feel free to bring it in! We would definitely like to try!! No twisting our arms here..haha! Plates, utensils, cups, and napkins would be greatly appreciated!!
Thank You,
Jason Whitmore
